"The best mind-altering drug is the truth." ~ Lily Tomlin
The mind is more powerful than anything we can imagine - it can lead you to a life of abundance or spiral you down to the depths of depression. But the beauty of this truth is that it is your choice and always in your control!
You and you alone have the power to determine what quality of life you'll enjoy. Of course things happen in life that are not always to our liking - but the secret to a bright and happy life is not about what happens but in how you REACT to what happens to you.
I have been coaching a gal who had been in both a marriage and job she had outgrown years ago. She was holding on for security and stability while dreaming about pursuing her real passion. Shortly after we started working together she decided to end her marriage - but it was done with love and respect.
Her career was a bit of a push-pull - she wanted to leave but didn't completely trust it would work out.She fought with fearful thoughts, "How am I going to make it," "How will I support myself let alone my kids," "I don't think I'll get the help I need to make my dreams a reality."
And then the universe moved her along...
you see her salary went to commission and she started making less and less money. She freaked out initially but then her perspective started to change.
It started becoming apparent that it wasn't making sense for her to be putting her energy into this job anymore. It was time to have faith, spread her wings and trust that she would be taken care of...
And that's exactly what she did. She changed her perspective and started believing in her talents and abilities to make things happen. She threw herself into her passion and in less than 3 months she had opportunities that would blow your mind.
A stranger stepped into her life and offered her "angel money" to support her until she gets her business off the ground with no strings attached. Through a social media contact she was introduced to a well known entertainment mogul who is interested in partnering and backing her dream. A friend introduced her to a lovely, caring man who is the perfect relationship for her at this time.
I am happy to say she is blissful - approaching life with the expectation that source will provide her with whatever she needs - as long as she is clear about what she wants.
So take this time, at the end of the year, and look at how you are viewing your life. Where can you change your perspective to allow your dreams an entrance?
A final reflection for you...ask yourself, "What do I have to let go of in order to create healthier, happier thoughts so that I may have a positive outlook?
Wishing you a transformative 2009!!!!!!!!!!!!
