Journaling was one of the best habits I instilled when the life I knew was crumbling around me.
- there are no rules to journaling - just write! This is the one place no one is making demands of you, criticizing you, judging you. This is your show, you call the shots!
- You can't do it wrong because it's personal to you and your life. Even if you don't know what to write about just sit down and start with that, "I don't know what to write about," and let your pen keep moving with that thought.
- The point of journaling is to allow a place of escape for your emotions so that you can feel lighter and more clear. If you are worried about someone reading your journal, you can always write your thoughts on a piece of paper and throw it away or burn it when you're done. This is not about communicating with anyone other than yourself, so let it rip and then get rid of it.
